Britton sings “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” in accompany with drums, bass, violin, guitar and horns. According to Britton, it makes for a very fun, jazzy number. The message of the song is that it’s a man’s world but we still need women to make it. To emphasize the importance of women in society, the solos in the act are Britton on vocals and Lutz on violin.
Q&A with junior Ellie Britton
Q: What was it like working with so many different people in your solo act?
A: “It gave me an opportunity to perform with instruments I’m not used to working with. It was a new type of performance that I haven’t done before, but it was a lot of fun and really fulfilling.”
Q: What is your favorite part of V-Show?
A: “My favorite part of V-Show is spending time with all types of people. You get to be around such talented people that you don’t always get to spend time with. It’s a truly humbling experience because of the sheer talent everyone is surrounded by.”
Q: If you could relive one moment from this past variety show, what would it be?
A: “I would relive the moment when we are all together for bows and the curtain goes down and everyone just takes a deep breath in and then hugs everyone around them. It’s truly the best feeling and it’s a good way to close out the show.”
