During his third year on the varsity swim team, junior Sam Salganik hopes to make State for a third year in a row and to help his team place in the top three at the State meet.
What is your favorite part about swimming?
[Swim] meets because they are always fun because you get to swim fast and you always have a good time with your teammates.
What advice would you give to other GBS athletes?
[To] always work hard at practice, because once you achieve something great at practice, doing it at a meet or game will come easily.
What has been your favorite memory from this season so far?
The Evanston Invite because it was a really exciting meet with a lot of fast teams. Even though we came in second [place], we all had really good swims.
What are your plans for swimming after high school?
Hopefully I [will get] into the University of Minnesota and I [will swim] there.
Do you have any pre-race or pre-meet rituals?
I usually relax and try not to stress about my race.
If you won the lottery what would your first purchase be?
I’d [hire] a personal butler.
