Quest, pitching to South teachers and staff members in order to highlight their food catering options, held a meal showcase in the food court on April 10.
Quest Food Services is the food management services that supplies all the dining options in the Glenbrooks, Tim Almy, Quest Food Management Services representative, said. Quest operates the kitchen at South and as well as numerous other schools in the Chicago area, Almy said.
“The showcase also comes as an opportunity for Glenbrook faculty and staff to connect with our team at Quest and know the services we can provide,” Almy said.
The showcase offers a variety of food that Quest wants to supply to South, Almy said. The sampled foods include: fried rice, Lo Mein noodles, a pasta bar, Vegetable Egg Boil, Tacos, and more. Quest runs numerous school events behind the scenes and caters for departments and sporting events, Almy said.
“We provide the showcase so people can get ideas to help them, because a lot of the time when different departments do catering, they want different things, thinking what they should serve for their lunch in advance,” Almy said. “Or what can they do for a snack break in a meeting they’re hosting. So this is just to provide them a fresh perspective of what we offer.”
The showcase also comes as an opportunity for the employees working the food court with Quest services to showcase their abilities, Dihanat Aguilar, A Quest employee said. They only serve a simple menu at the showcase but they are able to expand the menu as requested, Aguilar said.
“We are more than capable of doing just the basic catering and work to show that here,” Aguilar said.
