Glenview Police found 61-year-old James Solger dead in his home on Glenview Road, just west of Edens Expressway, on the evening of March 2, ABC News reported. On March 4, the police established that the man’s death was a homicide, and that he sustained six gunshot wounds, WGN News reported.
Officers were responding to a welfare check that they received at 7:31p.m on Sunday, March 2 when they found the body, ABC News reported.
Neighbors reported there being two people living in the house, a owner and a tenant, and that the police took one person with them on Sunday evening ABC News reported. No neighbors reported hearing or seeing anything until the police arrived at the scene,
WGN News reported.
“You always have to be careful,” neighbor Julie Cook told ABC News. “You always have to lock your doors. We do live close to the expressway; so, you never know what could happen. This is generally a pretty safe neighborhood. So, you know, you always have to be careful wherever you are.”
However, further information regarding the attacker has not yet been released.
