These protests aim to bring attention to the ongoing crisis in Gaza,  that started on Oct. 7, 2023 AP reported.

The protests were led by the Chicago based group Chicago Dissenters which works to end wars around the world, the Chicago Dissenters Instagram said.

The Chicago Police said that multiple people were arrested at O’Hare along the I-190 highway.

In addition to O’Hare, there were protests that disrupted San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the West Coast Highway that Transports people all across the coast of California, AP reported. The California Highway Patrol released a statement that attempting to shutdown a major highway is both unlawful and dangerous.

The protesters used tax day to send the message about how U.S citizens are funding this war through their tax dollars, which fund government bills to send aid to the people of Israel, AP said.
