Following a verbal confrontation between two students at lunch today, Interim Principal Dr. Rosanne Williamson emailed the South community addressing the situation and rumors of a weapon.

“During the verbal confrontation, a gun was mentioned by one of the students,” Williamson said. “At no time was there a weapon involved. It was determined that at no time were any students or staff in any danger.”

South’s School Resource Officer and the Glenview Police intervened during the incident, providing additional support, Williamson said.

Williamson concluded the email by emphasizing the importance of safety and encouraged the use of South’s anonymous tip line, Text-A-Tip.
